FAQs

Are there any restrictions that apply to the alteration of homes in Brent Meade?

Yes, each of the 13 sections of Brent Meade have a specific Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions that apply to exterior architectural changes and outdoor spaces. These run with the land meaning that new homeowners are required to comply with these rules. These covenants, which address subjects such as the architectural quality of changes and materials used in exterior surfaces, driveways and sidewalks, vary slightly by section.  (Copies are posted on this website in the Documents menu.)

As our neighborhood ages and as new homeowners move into Brent Meade, repairs or renovations become increasingly likely. If you are contemplating exterior changes, we encourage you to contact the Plans Committee (at plans@breantmeade.com) in advance of construction or contracting, for guidance regarding our covenants.

The BMHOA cannot waive any covenant that governs our subdivision, and you should be aware that any homeowner may enforce these covenants in a legal proceeding should your exterior architectural changes be non-compliant. This is the type of risk that the Board seeks to alleviate by working with homeowners in reviewing proposed renovations and new construction. The Board encourages you to read the covenants carefully and take them into consideration if you contemplate architectural changes to your property. The BMHOA's plans committee will be happy to consult with you on future projects.
